1 Way to Make Your Meat Go Further – Easy Pasta Recipe

Yaaas! I wanna share this:

On our weekly menu is Pasta & Red Sauce. Because we’re trying to cut back on meat and I’m always trying to make it go a little further, 1 KG of full fat mince lasts us about 2 months. How I do this is pack the meat into ball sized portions (about the size of the inside of your hand, maybe slightly smaller).

For the red sauce, the meat is not the star of the dish and the goal is to make it as thick and wholesome as possible. For this I use:

1 ball full fat mince
2 tbsp of cooking oil
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp freshly ground pepper
4 cloves garlic, crushed
Half a sachet of tomato paste
2 large tomatoes, diced
1/2 tsp of curry powder
1 royco beef cube
1 big eggplant, diced
Half red bell pepper, diced
1 bunch of dhania
1 tsp dried oregano
Half cup of gravy mix and royco original mixed in water
1/4 cup red wine (optional)

Sauté all this together and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes. Serve with any type of pasta you like. Best thing about it, tastes even better the next day.
